Overview

EAS constructed a mechanical penthouse for a GSK project. The facility is located in Rockville MD. The penthouse had (10) air handling units built into it and was built in (14) modular sections. The penthouse was designed with ductwork, piping, zone controls with reheat coils, ventilation and mechanical room conditioning. The penthouse also had an electrical room consisting of main distribution panels, transformers, UPS, lighting inverter and other miscellaneous electrical equipment.

Project Highlights

  • SS weld pipe steam humidification

  • Controls FAT with check out

Project Details

  • (10) Custom air handling units ranging from (1,900 CFM) to (35,200 CFM).

  • Supply and return fans with Sure-Aire flow monitoring station, filtration, DriSteem Ultra-Sorb LV, humidifiers, control and smoke dampers

  • (16) Supply VAV boxes with associated re-heat coils

  • All supply and return/exhaust duct work provided with zone controls

  • (4) Trane fan coil units for penthouse conditioning

  • Complete controls package provided by EAS
    including humidity, pressure and temperature
    switches, control valves, flow measurement devices, actuators and control panels

  • Complete mechanical piping system with all
    insulation provided, factory installed

  • Fire protection wet sprinkler system

  • 30 KVA lighting inverter

  • 160KW UPS system

  • Fire rated electrical room
