Overview

In 2018, EAS engineered, fabricated, and installed eight modular 1,200-ton chiller plants for a mission-critical data center in the Mid-Atlantic region. Designed to accelerate construction while maintaining the highest standards of quality and reliability, each plant was manufactured at our High Point, North arolina facility before being transported to the jobsite for turnkey installation.

 

By shifting complex mechanical assembly from the field to a controlled manufacturing environment, EAS minimized onsite labor, improved quality control, and helped streamline project execution.

Scope of Work

EAS provided complete engineering, fabrication, delivery, and installation of eight four-section modular chiller plants, each fully integrated with cooling, pumping, heat transfer, and support systems.

Each plant included:

​

  • Dual 600-ton water-cooled chillers with integral variable speed drives

  • Integrated cooling tower platforms with factory-installed cooling towers

  • Plate-and-frame heat exchangers

  • Complete chilled water, condenser water, and process water pumping systems

  • Cooling tower water treatment and filtration systems

  • Expansion tanks and air separation equipment

  • Architectural enclosure panels, louvers, dampers, exhaust fans, and conditioned equipment spaces

Engineering & Manufacturing Highlights

Every module was assembled, piped, wired, and tested in EAS's manufacturing facility prior to shipment. Factory integration allowed critical mechanical systems to be installed under controlled conditions, improving consistency, reducing field coordination, and accelerating onsite commissioning.

 

The modular design also simplified transportation and installation while maintaining the performance and reliability required for continuous data center operations.
