Wexford Center for Innovative Science
Pittsburgh, PA
Overview
Wexford Science and Technology and the University of Pittsburgh partnered to provide a state-of-the-art immunotherapy lab research facility from a renovation of an historic building that once housed production of the Model-T by the Ford Motor Company. EAS worked with state and local officials to provide equipment that was compliant with local codes and tied in to historical building features. EAS participated as a design assist partner to develop a mechanical penthouse to provide by air side and water side building services.

Project Highlights
-
11,300 SF Penthouse Footprint consisted of (30) modular sections.
-
The penthouse was fabricated in its entirety in EAS’s High Point, NC Facility
-
Air side equipment included two supply air handlers and two energy recovery exhaust air handlers and all associated piping and duct
-
Water side equipment included integration of air-cooled chiller installed adjacent to the penthouse, air elimination systems, heat recovery chiller installation within the penthouse and all associated pumping systems
